Sylvatica Studio led a team of museum planners, ecologists, engineers, architects and collaborated with exhibit designers to design Fernbank Museum of Natural History’s new outdoor experiential programming in 16 acres of restored mature Piedmont Forest and riparian lowlands off the Museum’s terrace overlook.

Sylvatica planned and designed a physical and programmatic connection to the Museum’s 60 acre old growth Fernbank Forest. This outdoor expansion will offer new experiences for all ages as Museum visitors explore extraordinarily biodiverse and restored native habitats from elevated walkways and tree pods high in the trees to riparian stream level boardwalks and experiential water and climbing educational exhibits.
